Tasting notes: dark ruby red colour; on the nose it is sweet and intense, revealing notes of sour cherry, prune and blackberry, followed by nutmeg, black pepper and clove. On palate it is surprisingly fresh, showing a full body with very well-balanced tannins.
It is best served at a 18 °C temperature and teams perfectly with roasted stuffed duck served with Mostarda di Voghera.
Aging potential: 10 years and more.

The “Castelrotto Rosso” is a special red wine, made with grapes from an old vineyard planted in 1960, which shows unique characteristics in the Oltrepò Pavese area. It has been produced to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of my first harvest. The “Castelrotto Rosso” will be produced only in very promising vintages.
